Altair Psychology provides a range of services from counselling and therapy, to diagnostic assessment, education and group workshops.
Our psychologists have considerable experience in the administration of a range of diagnostic assessments. We believe in supporting the individual and helping them to achieve their full potential.
We work with people across the lifespan from young children to adults. Our team take a client-centred approach and draw on a range of evidence-based interventions and theoretical approaches to best suit the needs of the individual, including – Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectal Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Play Therapy (PT).

Fees
Registered Psychologist:
$250 per standard 50-minute session
Counsellor:
$155 per standard 50-minute session
Provisional Psychologist:
$155 per standard 50-minute session
Family Therapist:
$310 per standard 75-minute session
Couples Counselling:
$180 per standard 50-minute session. Please contact the practice for further information and pricing schedule.
Assessments
Assessments are tailored to the clients individual needs. Our team provide a range of assessment services for young children, adolescents and adults.
For people under 18 years, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessment will typically involve three or more appointments, as well as assessment questionnaires, interviews with teachers, and a cognitive assessment.

Medicare
Medicare rebates are available to clients for eligible services with the presentation of a valid Mental Health Care Plan, or letter of referral from a GP, paediatrician, or consultant psychiatrist. We also accept referrals for clients under NDIS, Workcover, EAP and VOCAT.
Please note – there is no Medicare rebate available for counselling services (individual counselling, couples counselling, or family therapy). Please enquire with your private health insurer whether you are covered for these services, or click here for further information.
Concession Rates And Bulk Billing
We allocate a proportion of available appointments each week to concession card holders and those experiencing financial hardship. For these clients there will be an out-of-pocket expense of $81.15 after the Medicare rebate. Please enquire for further information.
Cancellation Policy
If you believe you are unable to attend your appointment, we ask that you notify us as soon as possible. Appointments which are unattended, cancelled, or rescheduled with less than 3 business days’ notice will incur a 50% cancellation fee, and full session fee with less than 2 business days’ notice.
NDIS Participants
Altair Psychology provides psychology services to NDIS participants who are plan managed or self managed. NDIS participants will be invoiced at the NDIS schedule rate.
